The process

Six steps between choosing a number and winning it.

Habeshabid is a lowest-unique-bid auction: everyone picks a positive whole number, and whoever picks the lowest number that nobody else also picked wins the item.

Step 1

Choose an auction

Browse live auctions and pick the product you want to win.

Step 2

Select your bid

Enter a positive whole number within the auction's allowed range — for example, 7. No zero, negatives, decimals, or letters.

Step 3

Buy bid credit

Each bid costs 20 ETB. Top up any amount of 20 ETB or more through Chapa — your wallet is the source of truth for how many bids you can place.

Step 4

Place your bid

20 ETB is deducted from your wallet and your number is locked into the auction.

Step 5

Wait for the auction

Watch the live countdown and your bid's status — winning, unique, or duplicate — update as more people join.

Step 6

Lowest unique bid wins

When the countdown ends, the winner is whoever picked the lowest number that appears exactly once among all submitted bids.

A worked example

Five people bid on the same auction. Here's how the winner is found.

Bids 3 and 5 are unique (submitted once each). Bid 3 is lower than bid 5, so bid 3 wins the auction.
