Frequently asked questions

How much does one bid cost?

Every bid costs 20 ETB, deducted directly from your ETB wallet.

How do I add money to my wallet?

Go to Buy Bid Credit and top up any amount of 20 ETB or more through Chapa. Your wallet balance is always the source of truth for how many bids you can place.

What numbers can I bid?

Any positive whole number within the auction's allowed range, e.g. 1 to 100. Zero, negative numbers, decimals, and letters are not allowed.

How is the winner decided?

The winner is whoever bids the lowest number that was submitted by exactly one person.

Can I bid more than once?

Yes. Each additional bid costs another 20 ETB and gives you another number in the draw.

Is my phone number kept private?

Yes. Your full phone number is never shown publicly — only the last few digits appear on winner and results pages.

What happens if I lose?

Bid fees are not refunded, since they cover your entry into the draw, the same way a lottery or raffle ticket works.
